50 Years of Friendship, Community & Memories at Warfield Park 🥂

Sunday 20th September was a very special day at Warfield Park as we came together for the second of our Warfield Park Community Association (WPCA) 50th Anniversary celebrations – and what a wonderful afternoon it turned out to be.

This celebration was all about the people, friendships and memories that have shaped our community over the decades. We were delighted to welcome residents who have called Warfield Park home for more than 30 years, bringing together familiar faces, old friends and neighbours for an afternoon filled with laughter and reminiscing.

A Posh Afternoon Tea to Remember 🫖🍰

The Community Hall looked beautiful as 75 guests took their seats for a rather special afternoon tea.

There were delicious sandwiches, beautiful cakes, traditional scones and, of course, a glass or two of Prosecco and Asti to raise a toast to 50 years of the WPCA. 🥂

But the afternoon was about far more than the food. The room was filled with conversation, laughter and stories from years gone by – exactly what an anniversary like this should be about.

It was a chance to catch up with old friends, share memories and celebrate the wonderful community that generations of residents have helped to create.

Celebrating Some of Our Longest-Standing Residents 🏡

We were especially pleased to welcome Mr Quinton, one of Warfield Park’s longest-standing residents, who moved here in 1961.

It was fantastic to see him joining the celebrations and continuing to enjoy Park life after so many years.

Also celebrating with us were the lovely Dave and Jean, who have lived at Warfield Park for more than 50 years. Just imagine the changes they have witnessed, the neighbours they have known and the memories they have made during all that time.

The Sumner family joined the festivities too, including our Managing Director, Barry Sumner, and Executive Director, James, alongside Jan, who has been such a guiding presence behind the scenes at Warfield Park.

Having so many people with such long and meaningful connections to the Park together in one room made the occasion particularly special.

Music, Memories and a Little Nostalgia 🎤🎶

No celebration would be complete without some music, and crooner Tony Murphy provided the perfect soundtrack to the afternoon with much-loved classics from the 1950s and 60s.

As the music played, guests chatted, reminisced and enjoyed spending time together. There was a lovely sense of nostalgia in the room and plenty of smiles as familiar songs brought back memories of years gone by.

14 Special Deliveries – Because No One Should Miss Out 💚

While our 75 guests were enjoying afternoon tea in the Community Hall, something equally special was happening around Warfield Park.

Trudi and Steve were out making 14 very special deliveries.

Fourteen residents who weren’t able to join us in the Hall received their very own posh afternoon tea boxes, hand-delivered to their homes so they could still enjoy a taste of the celebrations. 🥪🍰🫖

It was a simple gesture, but one that says so much about the spirit of Warfield Park.

Our celebrations weren’t simply about those who could be in the room – they were about our whole community.

Making sure nobody was forgotten and nobody missed out was incredibly important, and these special deliveries were a wonderful example of the kindness, friendship and community spirit that make Warfield Park such a special place to call home.

A huge thank you to Trudi, Steve, Gill and everyone at the WPCA who helped make the deliveries possible.

And thank you to Trudi and Vicky for capturing some lovely photographs of those special moments. 📸💚

A Huge Thank You to Our Wonderful Helpers 👏💐

Events like this don’t happen without a great deal of work behind the scenes.

A very special thank you must go to Gill, Trudi, Debs, Gary, Colleen, Steve and all the committee members and helpers who gave their time and energy to make the Community Hall look beautiful and ensure everything ran so smoothly.

From preparing the room and organising the afternoon tea to welcoming guests and making those special home deliveries, there were countless little details to take care of.

Your hard work was very much appreciated and helped create an afternoon that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Here’s to the Next 50 Years 🥂

Looking around the Community Hall, it was wonderful to see so many people who have contributed to the story of Warfield Park.

Some have lived here for decades. Others have volunteered their time, supported neighbours, organised events or simply helped make the Park the friendly community it is today.

Together, they represent 50 years of friendship, community and memories.

To everyone who joined us in the Hall, everyone who celebrated from home, and everyone who has played a part in the Warfield Park Community Association over the years – thank you.

If you spot yourself, your family, friends or neighbours in our photographs or anniversary reel, please give it some love, tag them and share your own Warfield Park memories.

Here’s to the people who have shaped the past 50 years of the WPCA – and to many more happy years, friendships and memories still to come. 🥂💚🏡

Thank you all for making Warfield Park so special.
