At Warfield Park in Berkshire, it’s the people behind the scenes who help make the park such a special place to live — and few are more respected than Bob.
Known affectionately by many as “Railings Bob”, he has spent the past 27 years handcrafting the beautiful black steel railings seen throughout the park. From homes across Warfield Park to the newest areas at The Paddocks, Bob’s work has become part of the character and identity of the community itself.
A true master craftsman, Bob has dedicated decades to perfecting his trade 🔨✨ Every section of railing is carefully made by hand with incredible skill, precision, and pride.
When we recently sat down for a chat with Bob, he estimated that he creates around 720 feet of railings every single year. Over 27 years, that works out at nearly 20,000 feet of handcrafted railings — an astonishing achievement.
To put that into perspective…
📏 Around 3.79 miles of railings
⚽ The equivalent of approximately 55–56 football pitches
📍 Even further than the distance from Warfield Park to Ascot, which is around 3.3 miles
It’s incredible to think that so much of what residents see every day has been shaped by one man’s craftsmanship and dedication over nearly three decades.
Bob’s work is more than just railings — it represents pride in quality, traditional craftsmanship,
and the care that goes into maintaining the unique character of Warfield Park.
We are incredibly proud to have Bob as part of the Warfield Park story and wanted to take a moment to recognise the remarkable contribution he has made over the years.
Thank you, Bob — your craftsmanship has left a lasting mark on Warfield Park 🖤
