Spring has arrived at Warfield Park in Berkshire, bringing longer days, milder weather, and the perfect opportunity to get back into the garden. At Warfield Park, with our beautiful surroundings and the newer Paddocks development as part of the community, it’s a wonderful time to make the most of your outdoor space.

We’re also delighted to announce that the Warfield Park Garden Competition 2026 is now open—making this the ideal moment to start planning if you’re thinking of entering.

🌼 Plan Now for a Beautiful Summer Garden

Spring is the most important season for setting your garden up for success. What you plant and prepare now will be in full bloom by summer—just in time for judging in July.

A few simple steps to get started:

  • Clear away winter debris and weeds

  • Improve your soil with compost or organic matter

  • Think about layout, colour schemes, and plant heights

If you’re entering the competition, try to plan for continuous colour and interest right through to mid-summer.

🌱 What to Plant This Spring

Spring planting is key to a vibrant garden. Here are some great choices suited to our local climate:

🌸 Flowers

  • Pansies and violas for early colour

  • Primroses and polyanthus

  • Sweet peas for height and fragrance
