06 Jun Summer at Warfield Park: Let’s Get Water Wise! 💧
Summer is just around the corner here at Warfield Park in beautiful Bracknell, Berkshire, and while we’re all looking forward to sunny strolls and BBQs, there’s something important we all need to think about – water!
With reservoir levels already lower than normal and the Environment Agency sounding the alarm after the driest spring since 1956, it’s time for all of us – residents, visitors, and staff – to pull together and make every drop count.
So what can YOU do this summer at Warfield Park?
💦 Top Tips to Save Water This Summer:
🌧 Install a water butt – capture rainwater for your garden. It’s free, fresh, and plants love it!
🚽 Fix those leaky loos – A single leaky toilet can waste 200–400 litres of water a day. That’s a paddling pool’s worth!
🥕 Reuse kitchen water – Leftover water from cooking or rinsing veggies? Let it cool and give your plants a drink.
🚿 Take shorter showers – Even shaving off a minute or two saves’ gallons over the week.
💷 On a water meter? Good news! Every litre saved is money in your pocket.
And remember, while hosepipe bans aren’t currently in place, they could be if things get worse – and businesses won’t be exempt from tighter regulations in extreme cases.
🌱 What Warfield Park is Doing:
We’re not just talking the talk – we’re working behind the scenes too. That includes looking at ways to recycle water, avoid unnecessary watering, and raise awareness. We also ask that all residents and guests get involved. Whether it’s reporting a leak, turning off a tap, or spreading the word – you’re making a difference.
Let’s keep Warfield Park green, gorgeous, and sustainable – without draining our precious water supplies.
Here’s to a summer full of sunshine, not shortages! ☀️💧
