Learn CPR in 15 Minutes – It Could Save a Life ❤️

Would you know what to do if someone collapsed and stopped breathing? Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces a person’s chance of survival by up to 10%. But here’s the good news: you can learn CPR in just 15 minutes—and it could mean the difference between life and death.

Why CPR Matters

When someone has a cardiac arrest, their heart suddenly stops pumping blood around the body. Without immediate action, this is fatal. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) keeps oxygenated blood flowing to vital organs until emergency services arrive.

How to Give CPR

If you ever find yourself in an emergency where someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally, follow these steps:

  1. Call for Help
  • Dial 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance.
  • Put your phone on speaker so you can start CPR straight away.
  1. Check Breathing
  • Look for normal breathing. Occasional gasps do not count.
  • If they’re not breathing or only gasping, start CPR immediately.
  1. Start Chest Compressions
  • Kneel beside the person and place the heel of one hand in the centre of their chest.
  • Place your other hand on top and interlock your fingers.
  • With straight arms, press down hard and fast—at least 100–120 times per minute, about 5–6 cm deep.
  • Let the chest come back up fully between compressions.
  • Hands-only CPR is absolutely fine—don’t worry about rescue breaths.
  1. Use a Defibrillator if You Have One
  • If an AED (defibrillator) is nearby, send someone to fetch it.
  • Turn it on and follow the voice instructions.
  • Keep going with CPR until help arrives or the person starts to show signs of life.
